Extended Stay Facility Officially Opened at Vareš Primary School

With the presence of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, representatives of Vareš Primary School, the Municipality of Vareš, and the Adriatic Foundation, the new Extended Stay Facility for students was officially opened.

This important initiative was implemented through a joint collaboration between the Adriatic Foundation, the Ministry of Zenica-Doboj Canton, and the Municipality of Vareš. The goal of the project is to provide the youngest members of our community with a safe, stimulating, and high-quality environment for learning, play, and rest after school hours.

The new space will allow students to benefit from structured educational and recreational activities in a secure setting — a significant step forward in improving the educational infrastructure in the municipality of Vareš.

As part of the opening ceremony, certificates of appreciation were awarded to key partners involved in the project’s realization. Minister Mirza Mušija received recognition on behalf of the Ministry, while Ilija Garkov, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer — and representative of founding partner DPM Metali — accepted the certificate on behalf of the Adriatic Foundation. Appreciation was also extended to Malik Likić, representing the Municipality of Vareš. The ceremony concluded with the official ribbon-cutting, marking the formal opening of the Extended Stay Facility and symbolizing a new chapter in support of children’s education and wellbeing in Vareš.
